Historically and culturally, Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse are the three most important cities in Tibet. Covering 650 km in five nights, the trip gives us an insight to life outside Lhasa.
One man famously spent 7 years in Tibet at a time when foreigners were barred from visiting. We can now do that in 7 nights. The trip covers all the cultural sites in the three major cities, Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse and gives us an understanding of what the Austrian mountaineer, Heinrich Harrer, might have experienced 70 years ago.
After visiting Lhasa, Gyantse & Shigatse, we embark on an epic road trip that traverses the high Tibetan plateau before cutting across the Himalaya and down through the Bhote Koshi gorge into the lush & fertile windward hills & valleys of Nepal. This is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular journeys in the world and one not to be missed.
